Our Story

The Emerald Fern was born from a place of passion, creativity, and an unshakeable connection to nature. As the Creative Director of a consultancy firm for nearly 20 years, I spent my days immersed in strategy and design, building projects and programs and writing books. My evenings and weekends were dedicated to a different kind of creativity: cultivating plants. What began as a modest collection of houseplants soon blossomed into a thriving indoor garden of over 200 carefully cultivated plants. Each plant had its own story, its own care routine, and a special place in my home, where I nurtured everything from tiny sproutlings to towering 8-foot trees.

In my free time, I experimented with growing techniques, building custom greenhouses, and testing every grow light on the market to create the perfect conditions for my plants to flourish. My home slowly transformed into an urban jungle, filled with lush greenery that brought a sense of calm and vitality to every corner. The joy of tending to my plants became more than just a hobby—it became a source of inspiration and a way to connect more deeply with the natural world.

As my collection grew, so did my desire to share the knowledge I had accumulated. I began helping friends and family care for their own plants, offering tips and tricks on everything from watering schedules to light placement. I would show up at gatherings with cuttings from my favorite plants, excited to spread the love of greenery to others. Watching people’s excitement as they nurtured their own plants sparked something within me. I realized that plants had the power to transform not only spaces but also people’s lives, bringing joy, relaxation, and a sense of accomplishment.

This passion for sharing my love of plants eventually led me to take a leap of faith and "branch out" beyond my personal circle. I began offering my expertise to the public, helping people bring the beauty of nature into their homes and workspaces. It was then that The Emerald Fern was born—a business dedicated to creating custom indoor landscapes that bring spaces to life. Our mission is simple: to enrich lives by connecting people with nature, one plant at a time.

Today, The Emerald Fern has grown into a full-scale consulting service for residential and commercial plantscaping. Whether it’s creating a tranquil home sanctuary or designing a lush office environment, we tailor each project to fit the unique needs and aesthetics of our clients.
